Oh the choice an Infiltrator must make

So I am inside the Collector ship and I got to where I can choose to get 3 weapons. As an Infiltrator I can choose:
Assault Rifle Training
Shotgun Training
M-98

Well shotguns are dumb since i am a long range choice, and I am doing good with my SMG's so i don't need the assault rifle. So it is time to get my baby the M-98 widow back.

I missed you baby..

Renegade for life..or at least the 2nd play through

So I started my new game plus on Mass Effect 2. And decided to be a guy, and work the Renegade Jerk off Badass side. But what class should I be, that was easy given my previous play through. I went with an Infiltrator, which makes sniping so much more fun thanks to passive skills and Tactical Cloak. I also took Armor Piercing rounds as my carry over starter skill, those and disruptor rounds you can kill pretty much anything.

So the 2nd time through I upped the difficulty to the 2nd hardest setting, and I was doing good till I got to the "arm the colony guns" part of the Horizon mission. And kept getting my ass kicked in under a a minute, so I dropped it back one level and kicked ass.  Currently I am on the "Veteran" difficulty, and hunting for my 2nd round of team mates. Having alot of fun this time, but I miss my M-89 widow sniper rifle, I can't wait to get that back.

Also been listening to OCRemix of Morning Thinks from Armored core. Morning Thinker while typing this.

So now I will have 2 different experiences when playing Mass Effect 3. Kinda cool.

Mass Effect 2 my take on it

Sorry for the delay, reality and all settling in. But I have time to take a look at Mass Effect 2. Having Team Four Star Plays on a side window thing.

First off, you should watch Yahtzee's take on Mass Effect 2, it was pretty accurate.

This will be a PS3 take, but it doesn't matter expect for what buttons you play, and I know alot of people have done this game, but the PS3 version came out later. Anyway. I will try to make this as spioler free as possible.

At the start, you play through some intro stage, then after some plot you get to choose your face and class, so since this is my first time doing this game i went with a Soilder class, a female (hoping for lesbian action since both Dragon Age's had them), and gave my self black/gray hair. Then I set off to save the universe. Thanks to the PS3, I got to get a kick ass interactive comic Dark Horse that went off the happenings of Mass Effect 1, you make some of the bigger decisions, then set into the real game.

Now you go off doing missions to recurit your standard RPG party, people who have no connections to you but after you do something the magically join you. They all have different powers more or less, but under 3 sub types:
Combat: different types of "bullets"
Biotic: Mass Effect take on psychic powers
Tech: summons drones, robot hacking.

Each character has 3 powers, 1 of them is unlocked by leveling up one of the skills. Then there is a 4th skill they get after you after a "loyalty mission", missins that make them forget their problems and focus on helping you.

So as I went along with killing everything that moved, I noticed quickly out of the 5 weapons I had since that is a Solider class skill- access to all weaponry, I only really used 2.  The assault rifle and the sniper rifle. Since the enemies are either really really far away or right in your face.

More on weapons:
There are 5 weapons in the games:
Assault Rifle
Sniper Rifle
Shotgun
Pistol
Sub Machine Gun.
SO my solider class got all of them. Seriously I used the starter Assault rifle, since it had the most ammo. Then the starter sniper rifle, then in 1 mission you get a choice between 3 super power weapons, I choose the super power sniper rifle, literally it was one hit killing everything.

Upgrading weapons is so much easier in this than every other RPG ever! Since you just upgrade weapons instead of having to buy newer and newer ones, and there are like 5 or 6 sets of armor, most get sent to you from DLC, like 2 sets you buy in a store. I started with the Blood Dragon Armor from Dragon Age 1, then upgrade to a armor that super powers your shields, which are the most important things since you will get shot alot. You buy, find, are given, or loot upgrades as you wandering along the universe. Now to afford these upgrades, you need to mine for minerals on planets- which is horribly boring, like watching the weather channel boring. I found it hard to find one of them Element Zero, since it is rare, so I used this guide here, Element Zero hunting guide. It is easy but boringing as all get out.

Good or Evil
It's not really good or evil per-say,  more like are you going to be a good guy or a jerk wad to everyone, there are also trigger during convos that you can trigger good or jerk motions to get more points in the meters. You can also negotiate or threaten people for stuff and discounts at stores. But its easy to tell on the talky wheels. Up for Good, down for Jerk.

Fan Service:
There is like no naughty fan service, like in Dragon Age, this is all done off screen, or at least the play through with the guy I choose, oh no lesbian fun, what a drag I wanted yuri.  But there is a crazy strip tease if you work your mojo with a female character, it will happen no matter what gender doesn't matter. But I find it cool that you get a "Space Hamster", difference between a normal and a space hamster, is a space hamster can survive going faster than light.

Trophy Hunting:
The majority of the trophies you ncan get..I mean like 80% or so of them you can get without really even trying, just play the game, head shot, kill people, do the loyality missions, And you will be fine, lost on trophies Trophy Guide. Now the 2 hardest ones are playing on the Hardest Difficulty setting. The other is much much harder, you must set alot of things in motion, have alot of loyal team members and make the right choices. Me, I followed this guide here Suscide Mission Flow Chart. Follow that to the letter and you will get the gold trophy. Which I did get, so it is possible to get by following the guide.

New Game Plus:
So on a new game plus you can important you previous character. You start at your currently level, 200K in cash, 50K of the four resources, but you can't change class. But if you restart your game, you get all the bonuses, which is a nice reward for starting over.

Dislikes:
So I didn't like everything to this game. The things that bugged me about this game:
Money can be hard to come buy and every thing is expensive
The Final boss stage was harder than the actual Final boss.
So many weapon options but just using two for the whole game.
Farming for minerals
The standard Bioware, "no expression face" when talking

Not really huge problems, but enough to annoy me. Anyway I was very happy with this game, it gave me everything I expect from it, it was challenge but fun at the same time, and the PS3 version was nice to people who never played the first game. So I am truly excited for Mass  Effect 3 and to see how my decision in 2 will effect 3. Something I am not excited for is the rumored Mass Effect MMO. I hate MMO's, since most players are dicks..but I am not going on that rant.

Anything anyone else want to chat about..? Comment.. =)

almost done with mass effect 2

So I was going to do a Mass Effect 2, into the game post. But I have realized how close I am to finishing the game, that I am just going to finish it, then write about it.

Sorry for the lack of gaming, but this game despite some minor annoyances is pretty good.

Depending on work, it shouldn't take for than 1/2 a week.

Dragon Age 2 Trophy worry

So I am playing Dragon Age 2, play through 2 and 1 thing really worry's me about Platinuming this game.

The Supplier Trophy: Found every crafting resource.  I hear this trophy is bugged is, and is very easy to miss.

But with the Black Emporium DLC, you can buy the resources after each act. I have heard this doesn't count towards the trophy, I have heard this does count towards the trophy, I have heard that you have to get more than 66 resources.
Any help on this..?

Mass effect 2 mission: controller

This is from my blog before it died, where I talked about console vs pc games: Console VS PC gaming

So I played my free copy of Mass Effect 2 last night, excited to see what it was about and all of that.

So I first off looked at a way to play the game with a console, and found a cool file that allows the game to be played with an xbox controller, thats find an all but I don't own an xbox controller, so i found something else to emulate my PS3 controller as a xbox controller..but I couldn't get it to work, so sad so very very sad.

SO i reset it and set my self to have to play the game with PC controls. I hate pc controls, it may be that I am on a laptop or it may be that I am not as muti hand talented as I  thought I am. After fighting with the first puzzle, I reset the movement controls from W/S/A/D, to the arrow keys, and that made it even harder to play.

So I turned it off and went to bed. But it makes me want to buy it and play it on my PlayStation 3, with much easier controller/

Mass Effect 2 for free

So yesterday EA.BioWare sent out a news letter to everyone who had signed up for the EA/BioWare/Dragon Age 2 news letter and giving away a free copy of Mass Effect 2, which is kinda bad ass. But it is only the PC version, not any of the console version. Which pissed me off considering Mass Effect 2 doesn't have console support and, I just hate console games- different post, coming soon.

I've been wanting to play some kind of demo to see if I would really like it because I keep getting told, "If you love Dragon Age 2, you will love Mass effect 2". And that is mostly true, after playing for the first little while, I was enjoying the game, reminds me of Dragon Age 2 but with the whole future feel instead. It was kinda cool.

After waiting 7hours for the 11 gigs to download, I set out to play, and as I said earlier I enjoyed the future feel to it, but I was annoyed by the controls.

Anyway if you wanted to try it make sure you download it now.

Cheating to be Champion

SO I restarted Dragon Age 2 as a mage so I can be a trophy whore, and get my first Platinum.  So I was talking to my good friend @odin42 on Twitter so he said for me to try the infinate money and exp cheat code.

Well I looked it up and after debating on it for a while, since I did beat the game 1 time as it was ment to be. I went off and got my self over 600 gold and made my self level 29.  You would think with 600 gold I should be able to just buy all of Kirkwall or at least get my house back, but alas I still need to continue with the story.  Also being level 29 you think the bad guys would be push overs, will either I am slacking in my new found awesomeness or Bioware keep the enemies levels close to yours, either way the bad guys are no simple push over.

While I was doind this i rememered and old show from G4, back when they were actually good but thats a different day. The show was called Cheat. Ahh memories..

The 3rd belated birthday

SO i got the 3rd birthday AKA Parasite Eve 3, for my birthday and quickly realized what sometimes happens to gamers, "I got some part of a series without playing the first", and it's not like it's a spin off where you can play it with out playing the first. It's like watching Return of the Jedi without watching New Hope and Empire, it just can't be done...

Luckily for me Parasite Eve 1 just came out on the PSN for 6$ so I think I will download that, the maybe look more into playing the 3rd birthday. Maybe they will bring parasite Eve 2 to the PSN.

On a side note, since I got one of the first releases of the game, I got a code that will work in Dissadia 012, that will turn Final Fantasy 13's Lighting into one of the 3rd Birthday outfit, kinda swanky in my opinion.

Dragone Age 2 Trophy hunting

So I am not one to be a trophy whore..mostly because the trophy's are out of my skill range, but Dragon Age 2, the Trophy's in Dragon Age 2 are actually able to pull off.

So i am playing through my second time and get into act to and realize that I have missed one part for some Chantry trophy, you need to find all 4 History of the Chantry trophies, and I missed part one..So I kept playing thinking for a 3rd play through.

So I approach the end of act 2, try to not have spoilers here, and it hit me to just restart instead of playing for another like 50 hours, I mean Dragon Age 2 is a great game but I got other stuff to play. So I am going to restart again, but what class..I was having fun as a Mage the AoE skills are just AWESOME!, but being a Rogue caused me to get trapped and blown up less..since I usually take the lead, even as a mage.  But I pl;ay with 2 mages, 1 rogue, 1 tank..and we destroyed the battle field. But playing as a rogue is easier skill wise..I only used 3 active skills with my rogue: back stab, the skill you use after a chain, and assistante, since i focus on passive skills than active.

I think I might do the mage..but the rogue..AAAAHHHHH i DON'T KNOW!!!

help..? Also I will not play a warrior..i hate warriors..lol

Dragon Age 2 Obi Wan

So my friend has started playing Dragon Age 2, and me with like 50+ hours invested in the game with rogue and mage knowledge, offered to help out my friend.

I reset his skills which were a mess, magically made expired DLC work so he got the black emporium for free. And helped him finish some quests to show how a mage was done. Also helped him with some trophies and gave him some links to help.

Yes my pupil, with me you can complete your training, I will make you the champion.

Sam and Max Season 1 epsiode 1

So after dusting off my Wii, i turned it on and went ahead to play Sam and Max. Now I remember Sam and Max from a few years ago, so I was excited to get into this game.

Was I disappointed..No..Was I impressed..No...

The game is a point and click crime game, like "Day 1" of any Phoenix Wright game, where you ask questions and find items to solve the case. Expect you take Phoenix Wright: shoot it full of Acid, make it snort pixie sticks, watch a bunch of violent cartoons, then tie it to an ACME rocket, and you get Sam and Max.

The hardest part of it is choosing what dialogue to make the game  continue, so that can get kinda frustrating. The only other annoying part more foucses on the Wii than the game. Same Wii hardware issues, a spazzastic motion controller, I could go on and on about the Wii, but any gamer should know about it

Nothing impressive as game play goes, the biggest selling point is the extremely hilarious dialogue and characters. *SPOILER* the first bad guy is a ex-child star who gets hypnotic goggle to control the now ex-child stars who bumped him off*END SPOILER* See that is just to funny..plus Sam and Max are hillarious. Sam a Dog wearing a suit with semi smart quips..and Max as crazy bunny..best i got is a crazy bunny.

Anyway if you want something not to hard with funny zany characters and just as insane dialogue, then pick this up.  Just be patient with the Wii and being stuck on dialogues.

dusting off the WII

So my brother got me sam and max season 1 for the wii for my birthday. so this means time to dust off my ignored WII and find my wii mote. my WII just collects dust, expect when i get a strange desire to go old school with my gaming or if i want to play No More Heroes, but beside that my wii sits neglected due to it's crappy game selction, which are mostly family orientated.

Also due to the crappy wii mote, which had to be upgraded with the plus, which I don't own. Th Wii was ahead of it's time with motion gaming, but then came the PS move and the Kinect, whcih blew the wii out of the water, that has always been Nintendo's problem, being ahead of the curve but never being able to keep up with the curve.

So after dusting it off..checking for system updates I popped in Sam and Max season 1.

Putting down Pokemon

Now you look at my recent Pokemon review and might wonder why am i putting it down after just picking it up, simple answer. I got cooler stuff I am playing coming down the pipline, stuff I need to play and I had to get Victini before the 10th. Now it is back to Dragon Age 2..Sam and Max season 1.

Time to dust off the wii.
